PPC Aruba!! Poker in Paradise!

Intertops hit another homerun this month at the 2016 PPC Aruba World Championship! Sending four online qualifiers (including me) to a tropical poker paradise for a shot at a $500,000 Guaranteed prize pool, $2,400 NLHE Main Event tournament! If you aren’t familiar with Intertops and their incredible satellite tourneys, I suggest you get over there immediately and get started! You are missing out on some crazy value! Intertops gave away 4 seats to this event, The Punta Cana event and the WSOPc St. Maarten event this the last few months and the largest field of any satty was only 35 players!!

I won my sattelite to this amazing event a few months ago and have been looking forward to it like a kid at Christmas! lol What’s better than Island living combined with high stakes poker tournament action! Literally two of my favorite things in life! I was especially looking forward to this as my first live tournament since the river series in September. The Poker night in America series at Choctaw conflicted too much with some big online events and this trip, so I decided to take the month off from the live grind. I was quite content staying home and tearing up the virtual felt when I knew I had such a great trip coming up! It turned out to be a very profitable plan, when I shipped the two biggest tournaments on Intertops in back to back nights right before leaving for Aruba! I took down the new 2k GTD Bounty on saturday, getting two of the three bounties, and then won the 5k GTD on sunday as well!! Padding the bankroll while giving my confidence a nice boost before the MAIN event and some fun in the sun!

I arrived a couple days earlier than the rest of the Intertops team and enjoy the beach a little bit extra before the Grind began! It was a great time from the second I landed! The Island is absolutely gorgeous and everyone was very friendly! Getting around was super easy with taxis everywhere! Just the drive from the airport to the hotel was awesome, great views of the beach right along side the road! Then find out the hotel was literally, right on the beach! A minute walk from my room to sitting in a lounge chair sipping Pina Coladas or taking a dip in the beautiful blue(and WARM) Caribbean!! Amazing!! The only problem was forcing myself to remember I had a tournament to play every time I had to walk out that way to get to the Poker room!! Not fair! lol! It was pretty cool though seeing all kinds of lizards and birds hanging out EVERYWHERE in the area on the walks! Put a smile on my face everytime and was a great reminded to enjoy myself while playing! Impossible for me to tilt here! Pretty sure this place keeps EVERY poker player from tilting, lol well at least not for too long anyway!! How could you in this paradise?! It wasn’t long before I was beginning to think I may never play poker anywhere else ever again! lol

    Intertops sent “TheTrooper97” from www.pokertube.com for this event, to vlog all the action and drink all Arubas coffee! It was pretty cool to meet him after watching his videos on PokerTube about quitting his job and moving to Vegas to play full time! He was loads of fun and super entertaining both in and out of the poker room! lol You can check out all his videos recapping the event here at Pokertube. He kept good tabs on all four of us satellite winners, John Michael Curcuru, Ashley Hine, Joan Sandoval and myself! Getting updates on all the action, keeping us all in the loop on how the other qualifiers where doing and how the rest of the tourney looked overall. He even saved Joan Sandoval from being being cheated out of a large pot by capturing the mistake on his camera!! Check out that drama here! YouTube I think he was so focused on us, he didn’t even get a chance to play any poker himself!! lol He was a lot of fun and did a great job, hopefully we will get an opportunity to work together again soon!
